OUR APPROACH
We believe the best partnerships are built on mahi tahi (collaboration), whakaute (respect) and whakatūturutanga (authenticity).
WORK / MAHI
Connection (hononga) is at the heart of everything we do, so we understand the surprise that people often express when they hear that our team is spread across the motu. However, it’s our strong connection to our own whānau, our communities and each other that allows Sayso to operate as the dynamic, agile and fast-paced agency it is.
Working from our kāinga/homes also means we don’t have the environmental footprint of an office, and we can work from anywhere – including at a client’s HQ, on-site at a shoot or on the ground where the action is.
We take a team approach to every client, engaging our self-styled ‘Brains Trust’ to ensure that every project and initiative gets the maximum benefit of our diverse skills and perspectives. While each client has a dedicated account manager, it’s not uncommon for them to work with two or more of the Sayso team, ensuring we always have their back – and each other's – even when life throws the occasional curveball.
We’re equally at home getting the mahi done over coffee as we are in a boardroom, and we value honest and upfront conversations. We tend to shout from the rooftops about our clients rather than ourselves, and we get the mahi done with quiet confidence, delivering value with a side of good chat.
KAUPAPA / PURPOSE
We love helping people and businesses authentically tell their stories.
We believe the key to this is whanaungatanga (relationships), and this is something we take into every aspect of our lives. A feeling of belonging is an essential part of living a healthy and meaningful life, and alongside hauora (health) and whānau (family), we look to these principles to guide our decisions and direction.
Through whanaungatanga with both clients, media and changemakers, we are able to tell the incredible stories of those with whom we mahi tahi (partner), and in doing so, inspire, educate, and inform Aotearoa and beyond.
We aspire to be a great Aotearoa New Zealand company, grounded in our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the part we play as Tāngata Tiriti.
Our connection to, and care for, Papatūānuku has always been important to us, and we love working with clients whose mission is to leave the world better than they found it. In recognition that this requires a collective effort, we became B Corp Certified in December 2022, having met their high standards of social and environmental impact. With our B Corp peers, we share a common aim of changing the economic system to positively impact all stakeholders, workers, communities, consumers, and our planet.
